The lecture aims introducing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), applying basic GIS analysis by using QGIS, conducting projects on renewable energy projects / applications.
The course aims to inform about the basic issues of municipal solid waste (MSW) management, 4R: waste minimization (reduce) & reuse / recycling / recovery processes; and to teach energy recovery from MSW through processes such as landfill (landfill gas), incineration, anaerobic digestion.
for the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change
EU Project: FP7-608622, Project researcher.
